AvailSuite stopped installation with a message about SQL Server Service Packs

AvailSuite installation package stops with the message

You tried to install AvailSuite’s database on MS SQL Server 2000. The MS SQL server specified has no Service Packs applied or SP1 applied or SP2 applied. AvailSuite supports work with MS SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 3 or higher installed. The installation cannot continue.

Download and install Service Pack 3 for MS SQL Server. After that, install AvailSuite again.

This means that you have a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with one of the following configurations:

  • no Service Packs applied
  • only Service Pack 1 applied
  • only Service Pack 1 and 2 applied

AvailSuite requires Microsoft SQL Server 2000 with Service Packs 3 or higher (now Service Pack is available).

If you want to install AvailSuite on the server, follow the instruction.

  1. Download Service Pack 3 for MS SQL Server (e.g., from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=90DCD52C-0488-4E46-AFBF-ACACE5369FA3&displaylang=en).
  2. Install the Service Pack on the server.
  3. Install AvailSuite again.

Also you can install AvailSuite on a server where no MS SQL Server is installed. In this case, AvailSuite will install MS SQL Server 2000 (Desktop Edition) with Service Pack 3.
